HISTORY

Of the 4 million children that enter kindergarten yearly, about 25 percent show up without the academic, social, emotional, and self-regulatory skills needed thrive. Birmingham Talks works to close this gap by providing community programs.

Birmingham Talks has launched with several partners around the city over the course of our brief history, HABD included. We have served nearly 20 families through our parent-group program, and over 150 children through our childcare program.

SERVICES OFFERED

Birmingham Talks is a free citywide program that works with babies from birth-3 years old to help build lifetime literacy. We believe that parent and teacher exposure to curriculum focused on early brain development and early talk will help the city of Birmingham boost school readiness and improve child outcomes.
